The tips posts on Vehicle Warfare and Rush Mode for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 are still proving very popular here on infinitecontinues, as people continue to invest time and effort in becoming better at Dice’s COD-killer. Although I haven’t played it very much recently, I still sank dozens and dozens of hours into Rush mode (easily my favourite play type) and noticed enough patterns emerging to put together a little guide for getting a lot of points on the vast desert map, Arica Harbor. These tips are for the Attackers – I find it easier to score points as Defenders by just staying close to M-Coms or being aggressive and pushing forward into the Attacker’s base. As Attackers, however, a little bit more strategy is needed. Should this guide prove useful and there are requests for more, I’ll consider writing more guides for the other Rush maps. My kill tally of 7095, compared to my death tally of 8821 (a k/d ratio of 0.80) reflects this fact! Although I could say I became addicted to it for a short while, that was always tempered by extreme rage – it never feels fun - but now I have a new multiplayer squeeze, and it isn’t even a full game. The demo for upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which comprises of a single map in a single game mode, has held my attention for pretty much my entire spare time for the last three days. Why? Because it’s astonishingly good fun.

Although it was never quite going to match up to the Modern Warfare 2 juggernaut for sheer depth, Digital Extremes’ multiplayer component for BioShock 2 feels like a missed opportunity. It introduces some innovative features that really lend it its own personality, retaining the essence of Rapture and the BioShock universe, but poor balancing, ropey animation and lacklustre maps let the whole thing down.
